Matthew Jafari joined the firm as an associate in 2022. A lifelong Nashville resident, Matthew graduated from Belmont University College of Law in April of 2021 with a certificate in Entertainment Law proficiency. While at Belmont, Matthew, in coordination with the United States Copyright Office, planned “Songwriting and the Law: What Attorneys, Songwriters, and Music Publishers Need to Know About the MMA.” Prior to joining the firm, Matthew worked in house at an independent music publisher in an operations capacity.
Matthew has fashioned his practice around the world of entertainment. His practice includes negotiating and drafting various agreements for songwriters, music publishers, recording artists, and producers in the country, pop, and contemporary Christian music genres. Matthew’s practice also includes representing clients before the United States Copyright Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys attending concerts, and watching the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators play.
